I have come across several posts and am now also involved in the proposed sale of a large tract of land, 130 hectares in all. I can see in other postings that there exist requirements to buy even as much as 1000 hectares or more. However, I have been reviewing existing laws and acts that limits the sale of a piece of real estate to any Filipino citizen to just up to 12 hectares. Will it be against the law if a particular person, or corporation that is at least 60% Filipino-owned, purchases land that is more than 12 hectares? If so, are there any specific limitations, remedies and solutions, involved in this particular scenario.
